I was born on 9 June 1983. After graduating from Beşiktaş Atatürk Anatolian High School, I completed my medical education at the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul University. I then undertook residency training in paediatrics at Zeynep Kamil Women and Children’s Diseases Training and Research Hospital.
My mandatory service in Kahta, a district of Adıyaman, had a profound impact on my perspective of medicine. This experience taught me that child health should be addressed holistically, taking into account environmental conditions and family dynamics as well as diseases.
This perspective led me to the field of social paediatrics. Between 2015 and 2020, I completed the Social Paediatrics PhD programme at Istanbul University. During this time, I conducted academic and field studies focusing on child health in relation to nutrition, immunisation, development, the environment, the family and broader social determinants. From 2021 to 2025, I worked as a faculty member in the Division of Social Pediatrics at Istanbul University’s Institute of Child Health, continuing to learn alongside students and families.
To date, I have participated in national and international scientific studies, projects and training programmes in areas including breastfeeding and human milk feeding, childhood nutrition and immunisation, early developmental support, sleep and behavioural concerns, the environment and child health, and preventive child health services. I am currently continuing my academic work at Atlas University.
In my clinical practice, I aim to support children’s healthy growth and development while offering families safe and inclusive companionship so that they don’t feel alone on this journey.
